Seabass Fishing in July Vol.2
The sluice of Sekiya flood-control channel
I went seabass fishing to the sluice of Sekiya flood-control channel on July 19 and 20, that is near my house and is a good spot for fishing. When heavy rain falls and the sluice is opened, seabasses come to here from the sea.

A strong rain sound awoke me in that morning. I thought it was chance to fish on the sluice of Sekiya flood-control channel. I went there in rain. There was no anglers and the water was muddy.
There was a whirlpool in the side of the mouth of the sluice. I cast a red-head colored minnor plug to the whirlpool repeatedly. Then the first seabass bit my lure. As the flow was strong, it was difficult to land it ( Pic.1 ). The size of this seabass was 63 cm in length and 2.1 Kg in weight. It was metallic silver and very beautiful. I was fortunate.

Then I cast the plug to the whirlpool again. After thirteen minutes, I felt my plug was caught in big driftwood. But I noticed soon the driftwood was not driftwood, that it was a big fish. The flow was so heavy and the fish was so big, it was really difficult to land it ( Pic.2 and 3 ). The nice sized seabass; the length was 83 cm and the weight was 4.4 Kg. This seabass was also beautiful. I was fascinated by the fish for a while.

Pic.4 shows two seabasses I fished in that morning. I was dripping wet with rain but not cold.
When I landed the larger seabass, it vomited two bait fishes, one of those was 20 cm in length ( Pic.5 ). This was bigger than my minnor plug, the length of which was almost 9 cm.
Pic.6 is a picture of the sluice. You see the water was muddy and the flow was strong.

Next morning the rain stopped. I went to the sluice of Sekiya flood-control channel again. As there were already some anglers nearby the sluice, I went to the mouth of the channel. I found seabass pursuing small fish, cast my minnor plug, and get a seabass ( 53 cm and 1.3 Kg ) ( Pic.7 and 8 ). It was also nice conditioned beautiful seabass.
Thus I enjoyed fishing on the sluice of Sekiya flood-control channel. Even if you goes there, you cannot always get fish. So I was lucky, I think.
