Inada is a child of yellowtail, buri. The body length of adult yelowtail is 80cm to 1m, and the weight is 10Kg to 20Kg. Inada is several months old and the length of it is only about 40cm.
Inada and buri come to the sea of Niigata in fall. Since adult yellowtail sails in the offing, we cannot fish it from the shore. On the other hand, inada sails in the shoreline, and it can be fished from the shore. So inada fishing is very popular here.
In 2002 and 2003, adult yellowtail fishery in the offing was very good and commercial fishermen were glad. But inada fishing in the shoreline was poor in these years. I do not know the reason why buri fishery has been good and inada fishing poor. Before then inada fishing had been very good for several years. I guess that those many inadas have grown up to buri now and that buri fishery will be poor in some years.

Pic.1 shows my first catch of this fall on the morning of October 7. I fished it with Yumizuno, one of traditional lures. You will see about it here.
|
Next morning I caught seven inadas, Pic.2,3 and 4 show some of them. Inada is not so big, but is powerful. I could enjoy exciting fishing.

I fishied six inadas on the morning of October 9 ( Pic.5 and 6 ). Then I thought that inada fishing would become good, and I was glad. But it would not.

Pic.7 shows only one catch in the next morning. It was my final inada in 2003.
Usually inada fishing begins on September and ends on December, we often catch more than a dozen only in the morning. But it was poor in 2003. Is this the influence of global warming?
